How does House Price Watch use your data and cookies?

House Price Watch has no accounts and doesn't ask who you are. We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used. Advertising cookies are only used if you agree, and you can change your mind at any time.

What data is collected, and why?

What it takes to run the site and see how it's used, plus advertising if you agree.

Analytics
Google Analytics records the pages you visit, your device and browser, and your approximate location, so we can see what people use. You can turn it off with Google's opt-out add-on. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the site.
Advertising
Google AdSense shows ads on some pages. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites, if you agree. If you don't, you may still see ads that aren't personalised. You can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services and turn off personalised ads in My Ad Center. Our legal basis is your consent.
Running and protecting the site
Every request passes through Cloudflare and our servers, which use your IP address to deliver the page and to limit abusive traffic. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site working and secure.
Maps
Map images load from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address. The satellite view loads from Google only when you ask for it.
Buying checklist
If you say what kind of buyer you are, we add one to a daily total for that answer. It isn't linked to you.
Emails
If you email us, we use your address and message to reply.
Sold price records
Addresses, prices and dates of sale come from HM Land Registry's public Price Paid Data. They don't include anyone's name.

Google and Cloudflare may process data outside the UK. We don't sell your data.
